Newspapers in Education - Parents
PLAN OF CARE PROGRAM
Dear Parents,
If your child has a Plan of Care program with his or her school (due to FCAT scores), home delivery of the Northwest Florida Daily News can be part of that program.
Simply ask your school’s Plan of Care coordinator for an order form. The school will pay $101.40 for the Daily News to be delivered to your home 7 days a week for 36 weeks. For shorter delivery lengths, the cost to the school is $0.40 per paper.
You also will receive details from the Daily News about activities you can use with the newspaper to help boost your child’s reading skills.

Fall Serial Stories
- Elementary School Serial Story - "Robyn Reports the Election" by Hot Topics: It's Election Day and Robyn Zimmerman is covering the neighborhood election for her very own newspaper, "The Robyn Report." Robyn and her band of reporters will learn about how elections work, political parties, debates, and the importance of informed citizenship and voting.
- Middle School Serial Story - "Freedom's Children" by Mary Maden: A Thrilling Tale of our Nation's Fight for Freedom! Ride with Emily on a secret mission that no man would risk it! Based on the story of a real-life, 16 year old Patriot heroine, Emily Geiger.
Specials to look for
- Character Builders - each month will explore a new Sunshine Standard Character Trait with examples of famous people who exemplify this trait and activities for students.
